Travel Information
By Rail
As every year, our partners will again be organising a number of special trains that will stop directly at the Exhibition Grounds. Details of these special trains arranged by our partners you will find here (in german language).
In addition selected regional and supra-regional trains will make an extra stop at the Exhibition Grounds (Hanover/ Messe Laatzen). The “Skywalk”, a bridge with conveyor belt, takes you quickly and comfortably from the exhibition station Laatzen to Entrance West 1.
If you are travelling from Hanover Central Station, you can reach the Exhibition Grounds with the urban railway Line 8 or 18.The journey takes about 20 minutes. At the Central Station follow the blue signs with the letter “U”.
By Car
The Hanover Exhibition Grounds can be accessed directly via the A2 and A7 motorways, followed by the A37 and the “Messeschnellweg” (Exhibition Expressway). If you are arriving from the north, you will find the “Messeschnellweg” has four lanes open during the morning travel times to the exhibition, starting at the Eilenriede. This is the first time this has been done and it will allow cars and coaches to make use of the opposite carriageway up to the Messe Nord exit in order to access the EuroTier site. As in previous years, the expressway will be open as a two-lane road again in the evening for returning traffic.
Planning your journey
We recommend you use the following service to plan your journey:
• Google-Maps
A route description to the Exhibition Grounds is also available on the Hanover Fair web site.
Satellite navigation systems:
Please state ‘Hermesallee’ in Hanover as your final destination in your satellite navigation system. This road runs to the north of Hanover Exhibition Grounds. When the traffic control measures are in force, please disregard the directions given by your navigation system as soon as you reach the first traffic control sign on the motorway. Instead, follow the route indicated, as this will bring you to the car park faster and more easily.
Environmental Emission Zone
In order to improve the air quality and reduce fine dust contamination levels, an increasing number of German cities – like Hanover – are introducing signposted official emission zones. Only vehicles carrying an official permit (disc-shaped sticker) are allowed to drive in these zones. The Exhibition Grounds are located outside Hanover’s emission zone. However, as of 1 January 2009 a yellow or green official permit is necessary to drive in large parts of the city.
More detailed information about emission zones and official permits can be found on the website of TÜV-Nord. You can order your official permit online there or buy one at any TÜV station or motor vehicle registration point.

Parking Lots
A number of different parking lots are available for visitors to EuroTier/BioEnergy Decentral. To the price list...
