Working together for more sustainability

Sustainable management is a guiding principle in the organisation and staging of the world's largest agricultural trade fair. As the organiser of EuroTier, the DLG therefore focuses on climate-, environment- and resource-friendly measures in cooperation with partners, exhibitors and visitors. The focus is on energy, waste management, logistics, mobility and catering.

Through a partnership with WeReforest, a project run by DLG e. V., exhibitors and visitors have the opportunity to support the conversion and establishment of mixed forests.

Exhibition Grounds

The green spaces at the Hanover Exhibition Grounds cover approximately 92,500 m², including more than 3,800 trees, flowering meadows, ponds and a micro-forest.

Circular Economy

A key focus of waste management is the separation of waste streams, which is an important prerequisite for the effective recycling of resources. Residual waste and hazardous waste are disposed of in accordance with regulations.

Certified food service*

Seasonal and regional catering, avoidance of disposable cutlery, recyclable and compostable packaging.
*According to ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and ISO 9001

Energy supply and efficiency

The Hanover Exhibition Centre sources 100 per cent green electricity in the form of green electricity certificates purchased annually. The energy management system is certified to ISO 50001.

Reusable materials

Largely reusable stand construction materials for the full-service stand construction offers, including LED lighting.

Paperless ticketing

Largely paperless service management for exhibitors and visitors.

What we can achieve together

We are committed to the sustainable design of EuroTier and enable exhibitors and visitors to actively participate in the reforestation and stabilisation of forests in Germany. With every regular ticket purchase and every exhibition space, you make a direct contribution to forest restoration:

  • 1 € per visitor ticket sold goes directly to WeReforest's reforestation projects
  • 0.50 € per m² of exhibition space sold goes directly to WeReforest's reforestation projects

The Green Ticket offers another way. For a surcharge of €3, a tree is planted in one of the WeReforest projects for each of these tickets - locally, regionally and transparently in Germany.

How you can get involved

Every visit to the trade fair can have a positive impact on climate protection. In addition to buying a Green Ticket or making a voluntary donation, there are other ways to get actively involved:

  • Use sustainable travel options: travel by public transport or form car pools.
  • Visit the DLG stand at EuroTier: find out more about sustainable forestry and be inspired.
  • Spread the word and support: Tell others about WeReforest and its climate protection projects. With more visibility and reach, the programme can continue to grow, promote sustainable action and realise even more impactful projects.

Through this commitment, EuroTier, together with its visitors and exhibitors, makes an important contribution to climate protection and nature conservation and contributes to the development of resilient, sustainable forests in Germany.

Sustainability guide for exhibitors

The guide informs exhibitors about resource-saving measures in the planning and realisation of their trade fair presence.

  • Use digital info material and avoid large quantities of paper.
  • Instruct your stand constructor to lay recyclable carpet or reusable carpet tiles on your stand.
  • Reduce stand construction materials wherever possible.
  • Use stand modules that are reusable or simply recyclable materials.
  • Check whether you can reuse packaging materials several times.
  • Check whether it is possible to upcycle company clothing.
  • Check whether it is possible to transport your machines under cover rather than wrapped in film.
  • Organise a shuttle bus service for your employees to Hanover and the exhibition grounds.
  • Electromobility: Use the charging stations at the exhibition centre.
  • Use the new Green Voucher from our WeReforest project for your invitation management. At the same time, you are investing in climate-stable forest areas.
  • Add a link to the public transport timetable to your visitor invitation.
  • Use reusable crockery and cutlery.
  • Hire a caterer who uses regional and seasonal products.
  • Look out for regional service partners.
  • Plan reusable decoration materials.
  • Replace cut flowers with potted plants.
  • Reduce your company's ecological footprint and support the diverse ecosystem services provided by our forests.
